Ground Duties

Pre Match

  • Check which wicket you are supposed to use.
  • See that it is cut, rolled and marked out.
  • Check sight screens are in place and roped off.
  • Boundary rope should be put out.
  • Stumps should be put out.
  • Bowlers marks to be given to umpires.
  • Sawdust put out if required.
  • Open scorebox and arrange scorer.
  • Put boiler on for teas
  • Arrange drinks (you may be fielding first)
  • Organise someone to put teas out.

Tea Interval

  • Brush and roll wicket if team batting second require.
  • Remark wicket.
  • Collect match fees from own players
  • Collect tea money from opposition.
  • Pay umpires.
  • Tidy clubhouse and kitchen after teas finished.

Post Match

  • Brush and roll wicket
  • Bring in surplus sawdust
  • Remark wicket (if to be used next day)
  • Water wicket if requested to do so.
  • Open Bar and arrange bar tender
  • Leave changing rooms tidy and locked
  • Check showers are turned off.
  • Lock mower shed
  • Check result sheets are complete and if result needs phoning in.
