Indoor Cricket – Week 3

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Week 3 was sooo traumatic that no body, not even Grant  Murray treacle can bring themselves to write about it!

Indoor Cricket – Week 2

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Season 2010 continued with added fervour as Shorter returned to the team having rewritten the rule book just in time for the game to include the following rules; Its my party and I’ll cry if I want to, Its my ball and if I say you’re not playing you’re not playing, I’ve been playing here 5 years and frankly what I say goes, My Dads bigger than your Dad. Alternatively the official ruling is… “If a non GCC player is drafted in at the last minute but then appears on a winning side has to then automatically waive there place if a returning GCC player wants a game.” Total farce but totally fair enough at the same time – fixxxxxxxxx. Indoor Cricket – Week 1

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

With Captain Scowl away on touring duty Treacle has taken up the slot of guest journalist for this weeks foray into the snow and icy stares of the indoor league. The action started long before even arriving at the venue with Captain Morgan having taken up the mantle of team organisation in 2009. Talk abound at the game that Shorter couldn’t ‘let go’ and was even texting details of the game from his sun-bed in Cape Town; Captain Morgan informed to rally the troops and make sure that we turned up even if the other team didn’t in order we get awarded the points (who said we weren’t competitive or more likely graciously take the points if they were on offer?) Indoor Cricket – Week 6 – “Marking The Fall Of the Berlin Wall”

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

The long awaited and slimmed down return of Treacle Murray this week saw the number of players used this season rise to 8, which is still below the seasonal adjusted average for the Autumn league. (more…)

Indoor Cricket – Week 5 – “Near Miss Collapse”

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

With kit bags securely locked this week, Goldsborough arrived determined to maintain their unbeaten record. A trendy metatarsal Robshaw football injury saw him on the sidelines – I think his big toe is also in a cast big enough to cover a childs forearm. Therefore one change was required to the side that kitted Pav’s 6 last week – with old Wilks off for a ding dong in Bangkok, young Wilks came in to provide a left arm spin option.  (more…)

Indoor Cricket – Week 4 – “Borrowed Kit”

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Unbeaten Goldsborough advanced confidently into the 4th week this week to play newcomers Pav’s 6. Unprecedented team news saw an UNCHANGED 6 announced for the first time since records began. (more…)
